There is open class action this evening at both Hove and Monmore with a pair of tips coming from the former and one from the latter

*** Powerhouse Duke - 8.07 Hove
** Carrick Scholsey - 8.13 Monmore
* Zenith Rocket - 7.49 Hove
Trap four is wider than Powerhouse Duke ideally wants to be berthed but that could at least keep his price slightly longer that the 1/4 that he was sent off this time last week. He is really starting to put together a strong body of work over Hove's 695m distance and despite a starting spot away from the rails. he can produce the best trapping to clear his rivals.
The red jacket over 630m at Monmore has already proven a winning spot for Carrick Scholsey who exited the Derby in the second round, having been so impressive in his opening heat win. He twice got the better of Salthill Sydney at that track and he could prove the main danger once more.
There is an interesting clash in the 7.49 at Hove this evening where Zenith Rocket can make amends for his short head defeat last week at the paws of Droopys Deploy. Richard Rees's runner will enjoy being berthed closer to the rails this evening than he was on that occasion, and his old foe has lost the striped jacket where his last five wins have come from.
