There is plenty of interesting top grade action at Newcastle this evening, where the eye is drawn to Slingshot Kian. He got off the mark in graded company at the first time of asking following three starts in open company and can utilise his position on the outside of the field to get away and gone this evening.
Tullymurry Troy has lost his groove a little since the summer, winning five times in seven starts from late May to early July, including an open race win over the subsequent Ladbrokes Gold Cup winner Headford Dane. His trapping boots have gone missing in recent A1 starts but with a downgrade into an A2 here, he might not need to come away in his absolute best fashion to get back in the win column and regain his mojo.
The final selection comes from the card at Hove where Fleadh Cailin looks to have been given a winnable opportunity on her first start after seasonal rest. She was an A1 winner at the start of August before she came into season, given an A2 to return in after her 500m trial. The time that she produced was naturally a long way short of her best but she will come on plenty for that and can get back to action with a win.
