*** Ernie Webb Mate - 8.07 Towcester
** Makeit Smasher - 7.33 Towcester
* Makeit Thea - 9.16 Towcester
An A3 tonight for Ernie Webb Mate is his first run in graded company at Towcester. He was unlucky enough to make his debut at the track in a Derby heat that contained Category One winners Underground Gold, Noachra and Romeo Tomcat. He was only beaten six and a quarter lengths, with his only other run here in the Cat Two BGBF Truframe Champions Stakes heats. A BetGoodwin Maiden Series finalist at Oxford last year and a top grade winner there, this is a much simpler task for him.
A D2 sprint at 7.33 looks a straight fight between Makeit Smasher in trap one and Romeo Neo in trap four. The selection is the former as he has only had three runs back from some time off and is capable of producing much quicker times than he has in those runs. A sub 16-second dog at his best, anything close to that would set a very strong standard.
Makeit Thea has not managed to get her head in front in a D4 so far in her career but her recent form has been rock solid and those who line up against her this evening give her the best opportunity that she has had so far to win one. She has been in 16.40 form and a repeat of that should be enough as she hits the magic 16-week mark out of season today.
