Tuesday's Tips

*** Ballygraigue Ava - 8.59 Towcester

** Salacres Machine - 7.49 Towcester

* Glasheen Bucko - 6.59 Towcester

The first two starts for Ballygraigue Ava were both wins in D5 and D4 grade. She finished third on her first try at D3 level last time out but she bumped into a winner who stopped the clock in 16.06 which is unlikely to happen again at this level. That runner got up her inside turning for home and momentarily put her off her stride but even so, she still produced her best finish time. There is more to come on top of that and this looks like an easier D3 to get back on the winning trail.

Salacres Machine has only had three career starts, still looking green last week as he is entitled to at this stage of his career, but showing plenty of promise nonetheless. He beat a couple of those who run against him again tonight on that occasion and should have the improvement in the tank to progress more than them. He looks the type who will take off the first time that he gets to the bend in front and that might just be this evening.

Tonight is a Towcester debut for Glasheen Bucko and a first race since December when he was trained in Ireland. His win there just before Christmas was only 26 spots off the fastest of the year at Lifford. He improved from trial one (where he beat the re-opposing Feathers Mcgraw) to trial two and his Irish form suggests he should be much better than a 16.28 D2 performer at this track.
