Martyn Kitt, the organiser of the petition against the greyhound ban in Wales has spoken out to thank. those who have helped it reach more than 10,000 signatures.

Valley petition reaches 10,000 signatures
Organiser Martyn Kitt has thanked everyone who signed the petition to challenge the ban on greyhound racing racing in Wales - giving special mention to those who galvanised support.
The petition passed 10,000 signatures late on Friday, the key number which could prompt a Senedd debate on the controversial decision, after efforts had to be redoubled after signatures from outside the UK were taken off the total number. However, a renewed push saw the number back over the key number - and that number is expected to continue to rise.
Reflecting on how the petition came about, Kitt explained in a social media post: "A small team of us greyhound racing enthusiasts headed to Towcester on English Derby Final night in June to launch our petition to challenge the ban on greyhound racing in Wales. Little did we expect that we would have 10k signatures on our petition by Irish Derby final night at Shelbourne.
"It’s taken just one community of enthusiasts, with just one track in Wales, to galvanise the relevant support consistently, each day, every day, to hit this crucial milestone.
"With still 600 signatures needed to hit the target on Friday, the cavalry rode in and the horse racing community helped to get us to the finish line. Yeeehaaa!
"Thank you to every single person who signed, shared or promoted this petition in any way. You stood up. You were counted. You made your voice heard on behalf of our thoroughbred greyhounds and the good folk in Wales who dedicate their lives to their care.
