One of the unlucky losers that went in the notebook last week was Debbie Turlock's Real Gone Lover. She lost all chance at the opening bend when behind the re-opposing Ballymac Suntan, doing incredibly well to get herself anywhere close. This will require a little more luck early on but she has a string of 35.60s to her credit and that level of form should be enough.
The final of the Coral Golden Sprint is a hugely competitive one and it would be no surprise if any of the six won. However, Da Don has fewer miles on the clock than a number of these and he produced his best time at Nottingham when he was last clad in the white jacket, beating the dog who was second favourite for this competition ante-post. He paced into trouble twice last week in his semi and might just come away slicker from a middle draw.
It is a six-bend debut for Brentfordpenguin this evening, but he shapes as if he is well worth a try over this far. His form at Oxford over 450m is strong, a 26.65 winner there on his latest run. He has since come to Romford to trial over two bends, producing a very slick 13.57. A repeat of that would send him well clear in this field, and while he is possibly vulnerable to a genuine stayer, he can go beyond recall before his stamina is tested.
