There are plenty of fascinating open races to get stuck into this evening at Romford as there regularly are on a Friday night including the Essex Vase champion Tiffield Tarquin.

Tiffield Tarquin will be one of the shortest prices on the card this evening but he is impossible to oppose as he looks to make it 7/7 in 2026. 575m around here has become his favourite track and trip, impressive when running though a decent field in the Coral Essex Vase to kick off the year, even when things didn't quite go his way in the final. He has only tasted defeat here twice in 10 starts, once in the Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes final and the other when behind the Coral Coronation Cup winner and Romford queen, Fabulous Sonique.
400m is about as far as Siomhas Princess wants but she looks set to build up too big of a lead this evening for his rivals to overcome. She is all about brute, early speed, with some very flashy sectionals on the clock. This is her first race since being knocked over in mid-February where she was sent off odds-on favourite. The winner of that went on to make the final of the Coral Golden Sprint and there looks nothing of that calibre in here.
The final of the maiden stayers at 9.13 is potentially a straight clash between the two heat winners from last week, Charlie Loves Me and Thorpys Legacy, with preference for the latter. The draw has worked out well for him, the sole seeded runner outside of five railers. He is a strong type over this trip and if he can turn handy enough, he can punish any crowding on the inside.
