Nottingham on Monday saw a double for the Nathan Hunt kennel

Both Category Three finals went to the Nathan Hunt kennel at Nottingham on Monday. Intriguing Iris landed the bitches competition, reversing heat form with Vale Bluebell. She had been more than three months without race action prior to the heats, so she was entitled to come on for that return to action.

Hunt's other winner went against market expectations as Newinn Oscar turned over his shorter-priced kennelmate Scooby The Boss. Oscar had been behind Scooby two weeks prior but he got the better of the break and once on the bunny, it proved an impossible task to reel him in, stopping the clock in a smart 29.28.

Mossrich Karen made it 8/14 at Nottingham since being sent sprinting by Esther Driver. She is a consistent performer around here and should continue to win her share of opens over both sprint trips.

John Flaherty got on the board with his Northern Flat winner Naochra. He got to the front earlier than is often the case with him and given his strong-running profile, once he was on the bunny, it was game over for his rivals.

Two heats of a 480m maiden trophy went to Honour Bach for Adrian McPherson and Simon Deakin's Headford Babs. The former has won four of his six starts for McPherson since arriving from Ireland, completing a hat-trick of victories after A2 and A1 wins. The latter was picking up a fourth straight win and produced arguably her best career run.
