Good Acclaim is going to be a short price in the sprint contest this evening but with good reason. He produced a hugely impressive debut at Star Pelaw in December, following it up with a win at this track the next week. That 17.74 run stands out like a sore thumb at this sort of level and he can continue the unbeaten start to his career tonight.
Recent races have not been as strong as the times shown in trials for Da Mighty Man but he is still more than capable of getting the job done. He clocked a 17.66 in a sprint trial here in December but found genuine sprinters too hot to handle in a pair of races. He was an East Anglian Derby and Ladbrokes Gold Cup semi-finalist last year, missing out on a spot in the final of the latter by two short heads. That level of form stands out in this company.
Although Thats It Jack lacks a look at the track, he could still be the one they have to beat in the first heat of a dual distance competition. He made the third round of the Derby last summer, winning a pair of starts at Star Pelaw since. The return to a galloping track could make all the difference to him, producing a solid effort when third on All England Cup final night at Newcastle just after Christmas.
