Today's open racing comes from Nottingham where there are five such contests this evening.
Droopys Poker (T4) should take some beating the finale at 9.46. Kim Billingham-Hine’s dog has been running well in defeat over this course and distance and wasn’t beaten far in her last two starts, including when runner-up last week. He chased home No Better Feelin that night and this looks a weaker affair, so he can take full advantage of the drop in class and go one better this time.
The first open of the evening is the nottingham-greyhounds.co.uk Puppy 480m Trophy at 7.27 and Curraghmorechamp (T2) is another fancied to make the most of having less on his plate. Following an impressive A1 success, the Peter Holland-trained was no match for the excellent Romeo Alliance when runner-up over 500m here last Monday but there is nothing of that calibre among the opposition this evening. He had three of these rivals in arrears that night and a repeat performance can see him come out on top.
Tally Ho Swift (T1) can give the locals something to cheer about by scoring over 480m at 8.54. Neil Chapman’s runner built on a trap-to-line A2 success when hacking up in a 500m maiden a week ago and there could be more to come from his improving sort. Armed with a plum draw on the rails, he could turn in front and would take some catching if doing so.
