This is a day that has been looked forward to for a while as Zenith Pasha heads into a competition over six bends for the first time. He has been imperious in his three starts over this trip in open-off opens over this same 630m distance, and should be able to add another win to his record this evening. He can lay down a serious marker for the competition as a whole.

A win at Towcester and then in the opening round of the Gymcrack marked Forgottotellya down as one of the most promising pups in the country. He briefly lost his way but has found his form again of late in serious style, setting a new 460m track record at Towcester before a very impressive trial stakes win here. He can show off his class again to open his campaign with a bang.

It was the opening round of this competition last year that saw Droopys Bookem make his debut over six bends. He was unlucky enough to find a heat which contained two of the five finalists after a long run to the semis of the Derby. This year he has been slower to find form but has come to the boil nicely in recent weeks, and absolutely bolted up over six bends at Newcastle when last in race action.
