*** Pomba Gladys - 7.33 Towcester
** Maglass Rambler - 6.59 Towcester
* Miss Hunt - 7.16 Towcester
There is a quick downgrade for Pomba Gladys this evening after a single run in a top-grade sprint. She was a smart winner at this level the start before, stopping the clock in sub 16 seconds. A repeat of that is going to make her very hard to beat returned to this D2 grade with a draw on the outside of this field looking a decent starting spot for her.
The drop to this level almost worked the oracle for Maglass Rambler when only beaten a neck a week ago, coming from behind with a strong challenge. He is worth giving another chance to, especially as he was a winner in the grade above in both May and June and he is not seen at this level very often.
It is the UK debut this evening for Miss Hunt who arrived off the back of a very smart 28.69 at Dundalk. That is a very decent level to run to, and she has shown plenty of promise in her trials at this venue. She has a decent yardstick in opposition in the form of All About Rosie who has the best times in this field on a consistent basis, but that rival has finished second in five of her last six starts and against a potentially progressive one who is still a blank page at this track, she may have to accept a place once more.
