Outright tips - Prices with sponsors BetGoodwin
Joe Conneely – Start The Engine (7/1), King Jackson (33/1)
Michael Smyth – Start The Engine (7/1), Salacres Senan (16/1), Aero Pepinillo (22/1)
Oxford 6.39 – BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat one
Ultra-competitive heat to get the competition underway with Crossfield Niall (T1), Southfield Poppy (T2) and Droopys Aladdin in T3 all looking to lead round. Hopes Kitty comes into this on the back of some solid runs at Central Park and looks well-drawn in T4.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – Droopys Aladdin is a classy type and can overcome this draw.
Michael Smyth – Droopys Aladdin moving rails could hand this to Hopes Kitty in T4.
Oxford 6.56 – BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat two
All eyes on the break here with plenty looking to lead round and make all. It looks a wide-open event with Gingers Prince, Union Rebel and Ballinakill Liam at the head of the market.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – Ballinakill Liam is interesting, stepping back up in trip, and I’m with him.
Michael Smyth – All on the break here and very much a watching brief at the moment. Ballinakill Liam is of interest, and I could be tempted in on the night.
Oxford 7.14 - BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat three
All eyes on Salacres Senen from T3 and recent Kent Silver Salver winner Rioja Oisin from T5 here. T4 Clona King runs for Barking Mad Betting pundit Ryan Conneely, and we wish him and connections all the best.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – This trip looks taylor made for Salacres Senan. Peter Harnden has done a great job getting him back to his best, but this is a tough race. Also, good luck to Ryan with Clona King.
Michael Smyth – Salacres Senan for me. If he traps well, he can lead round and make all. Rioja Oisin is a class act and can qualify for the semi-finals.
Oxford 7.31 – BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat four
Start The Engine from T1 catches the eye with seven wins on the bounce over course and distance. The Kevin Hutton-trained son of Ballymac Cashout looks the type to go deep in the competition. Antigue Kestral (T3) stays on well and would be a danger to all granted a clear run. Easy Molly has a chance to qualify and looks big at 150/1 for outright honours with sponsors BetGoodwin.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – Superb race but Start The Engine is faultless for me, and he wins.
Michael Smyth – Start The Engine, lead round and make all for me. Antigua Kestral to chase him home and grab a qualifying spot.
Oxford 7.51 – BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat five
Another really trapping heat of the BetGoodwin Pall Mall over the four-bend 450-metre trip at Oxford. Plenty look to have lead ability claims on form, all eyes on the break.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – I’ll be with Yahoo Lolls on the inside. She did it well last week and has a nice draw to work from tonight.
Michael Smyth – Very competitive race, and it's all on the break. I’ll be with Madabout Peck to ping out and make all.
Oxford 8.09 – BetGoodwin Pall Mall – heat six
Fascinating heat to finish the Pall Mall heats. Singalong Rex will attempt to make all and has a chance from T3. Aero Pepinillo looked a strong stayer winning in Maiden company last week over course and distance and could be the one to chase Rex home. Rioja Maxi is well-drawn on the rails in T1 and could attract support.
Verdict: Joe Conneely – Good to see Brindle Bully back to form, but this is a good race, and I’m with Rioja Maxi who should be getting stronger now following season and has the early pace to lead and win.
Michael Smyth – I’m hoping Aero Pepinillo can turn handy and qualify. Rioja Maxi (T1) and Singalong Rex (T3) can dual for the lead and hand this to Pepinillo off the final bend.
Good luck to all connections, owners and trainers with runners in the Pall Mall.
