Things were not entirely straightforward for Darcys Dude last week in the heats of the Coral Puppy Cup but he showed plenty of character to dig deep and pull out the win despite that. When he gets clear air he is a very smart performer, capable of coming away far better in the early stages than he did a week ago, and if he pings, it is going to take a tough one to stop him.

Cloheena Caelan only won his Puppy Cup heat by a short head last week from the re-opposing Churchfield King. The selection had not had a look around this track since the middle of June, however, so he is entitled to come on for having that refresher after going through the grades at Hove since his last visit. There should be better to come from him here. 

Finally Matched is in a nice groove of form of late, running well a number of times at Central Park before returning to Romford in her last two outings, chasing home the smart Coonough Laura before running riot last week. She gives the impression that there is more still to come and she has a nicer draw to work from than her main market danger Izzys Tenpin, who has plenty of pace to clear on his inside.
