*** Bombay Buck - 8.53 Romford

** Newinn Jolie - 7.13 Romford

* Stradeen Spirit - 6.53 Romford

When he is on song (as he has been in recent weeks) Bombay Buck is a very tough dog to beat around Romford. He has the early gears to get himself to the front at the opening bend but the middle pace and enough stamina to make sure that he stays there over the 400m distance. His last two wins have been electric and with a rails mover inside of him, he is going to have plenty of room to operate into the opening bend,

Maxine Locke has a pair of decent chances in the 7.13 this evening but Newinn Jolie might be the stronger of the pair. Her runner in one has a lovely draw with a middle seed in two but she lacks a look here while the selection knows the circuit. There would not be much between the pair on their recent form in supporting competitions that finished on Derby final night but the knowledge the selection has at this venue can make the difference.

It will be interesting to see how Headford Sarah gets on in the 6.53 as she is drawn closer to the rails than she has ever been in a race. She is very smart but is not the most consistent type, so although she is the one that they all have to beat on the clock, it could be that the solid yardstick Stradeen Spirit can use this slightly easier contest (having taken on Bombay Buck the last twice) to get his head back in front.
