Graham's Tuesday Tips- Punters may not feel Hard Done Boy at Swindon

Tuesday Night’s open race action consists of six contests at Swindon from 7.33pm to 8.59pm. Having tipped five of the seven winners at the Blunsdon track last Tuesday, we take a look all six races in the search for more winners again tonight

The first of the open’s is The Blunsdon Ladies at 7.33pm and this looks to be a match between Angie Kibble’s Newinn Bliss and the Kevin Hutton-trained Southfield Poppy.

Newinn Bliss has been in sensational form at Swindon since the turn of the year, winning eleven of her thirteen starts over course and distance, but had her colours lowered by Ballymac Zari having produced a poor break. She could get back to winning ways again with another of her usual fast starts, but she may just find Kevin Hutton’s Southfield Poppy too good.

Last year’s winner of the Produce Stakes here is in good form having won her last two starts at Perry Barr and has been competing against the likes of Churchfield Syd, Aayamza Sydney, Fabulous Sonique and Romeo Steel in recent weeks and with slow starting Baggios Emoski on her inside, she could get first run on Newinn Bliss and could take all the beating if so.

The Blunsdon Standard Div-B at 7.49pm also looks to be another match on paper. Paul Foster’s Southfield Duke and John Campbell’s Sallowglen Hope look to have time in hand over the rest of their rivals in this field, but preference goes the way of the runner in the striped jacket Sallowglen Hope, who boasts decent early pace and can stay on well in the later stages.

He made it three wins from his last four starts in graded and open company last week, he holds Only Live Once and Bandanna Bono on that running from last week, and if turning in a handy position, then he can outstay these rounding the final bends.

Campbell looks set to be on target again in the following race at 8.07, Division A of The Blunsdon Standard with Hard Done Boy. The June 23 youngster has been nothing short of sensational in recent weeks and remains unbeaten after four starts.  He has also recorded two of the three fastest times over the 476m course for 2025 in 27.84 and 27.88, and if able to negotiate Ballymac Zeela on his inside in the early stages, then another victory looks to be on the cards though the odds look likely to be short.

8.24pm sees a six bend maiden contest, The Blunsdon Maiden Stayers over 682m, and it looks to be a tricky affair with not much in the way of recent form over the distance. However, it could pay to take a chance with Paul Foster’s Rockmount Frank. He battled well to win a four bend open last week and his four bend times bode well against his rivals here. With the chance of him being in front on the final lap, he could see the extra distance out well enough in order to hold on at the finish.

Six runners go to the traps for The Blunsdon Maiden Standard at 8.41 and having been costly to follow in two similar contests when sent off as 11/10F and EvsF, Ashway June will be looking to land some compensation in this field for trainer Adrian Rawlings. She is held on form from last week’s outing by Mustang Darwin, who finished runner-up when picked up in the later stages, but she was less than a length behind that rival despite finding trouble out of the traps. Mustang Darwin could prove to be a problem in the early stages as he can show early pace, and Vancouver Monty in three likely to be heading towards the rails, but if keeping out of trouble, then she could prove too strong rounding the final bends.

One of the better races and better bets on the card is in the final open race contest at 8.59pm, The Blunsdon Stayers and see’s the last two winners over this distance renew rivalries again. Angie Kibble’s Ballymac Mags made all the running last week, reversing the form from the previous week where it was Frank Bryce’s Baggios Dilemma who ran out a decent winner. Those two could battle It out again, but Ballymac Mags has a tricky draw out in trap four, and as a result, it could get a bit messy on the inside which could set things up perfectly for Chris Fereday’s Millridge Tanic

The Monmore based runner has been keeping good company in recent weeks, making the final of the bet365 Hunt Cup at Oxford, and was beaten by Mongys Wild at Monmore in the PGR Golden Jacket Heats last time out. He is blessed with plenty of stamina, has a cracking draw outside five railers, and he can swoop round the outside and could prove to be one of the best bets on the card.
