Joe Conneely's Saturday Greyhound Racing Tips - September 13, 2025
It's a busy Saturday with big competitions at Doncaster, Shelbourne Park and Swindon, and Joe Coneely talks us through the action on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Saturday greyhound tips
Saturday sees the semi-final stage of the BGBF 79th Two Year Old Produce Stakes at Swindon, as well as the opening round of the Yorkshire Derby at Doncaster and the quarter-finals of the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park.
At Swindon, the first semi-final at 4.04pm is a five-dog affair and that can suit the strong-running Malcolm Bosh to swoop late yet again, repeating last week's run by beating Coppice Esme, who was a head behind him with Berties Decision back in third.
Semi-final two sees the two standout performers and litter brothers Romeo Ability and Romeo Alliance go head-to-head again. Romeo Ability has taken to the track quicker than his brother and showcased that last week when beating him by just under three lengths in a rapid 27.94. He goes from trap four on this occasion but should still clear the trio on his inside to lead, with trap six Romeo Alliance expected to qualify in second and Eagles Respect taking the final qualifying spot in third.
The Yorkshire Derby kicks off at Doncaster with four heats. Heat one at 7.24pm sees the extremely exciting Turnthemagicon go from trap six where he lines up against Droopys Trade. A level break and there is nothing that can lead Turnthemagicon, so if he traps on terms then he should lead and win.
Heat two at 7.42pm sees last year's finalist Slick Sentinel line up in trap five against Northern Flat winner Naochra, and I will be with the former to get the better of Naochra.
At 7.58pm we have heat three and a cracker where Romeo Tomcat takes on Gold Cup runner-up Jacktavern Chief and Keefill Goose. Romeo Tomcat whizzed round in a trial when clocking 29.02 and a repeat of that run should see him win this.
The fourth and final heat at 8.16pm sees local runner Foxwood Carter have plenty of time in hand on the clock, having won an A1 last time out in 29.24, so in what looks a moderate heat, he should take all the beating.
At Shelbourne Park, we are at the quarter-final stage of the 2025 Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby where the big guns have avoided each other. Cheap Sandwiches lines up in the first quarter-final at 8.32pm from trap five and he can go one better than last week's brilliant second to Proper Heiress.
Quarter-final two at 8.48pm can see trap one Magical Mag use her early pace to her advantage by leading and making all, getting the better of Ballymac Stud and Shanahee Boomer.
The UK’s Sole raider Proper Heiress goes in heat three from trap one at 9.06pm and if coming away, then he should see off his rivals. He is seeing out the trip extremely well so as long as he gets the run required, he should safely qualify for the final 12.
The fourth quarter-final at 9.24pm can see De Lahdedah overcome a tricky-looking draw in trap four to win the race, with the strong runners Ballyhooly Bruno and Coosane Pickles qualifying in behind Liam Dowling’s superstar.
