Joe's Friday Tips

***7.27 Romford - Grove Patrick (4pts) 11/8
**7.44 Romford - Gothic Kitty - (2pts) 5/1
*8.54 Romford - Droopys Manowar (2pts) 9/4

A tough week continued last night as again we look to bounce back this evening with a Friday night open card from Romford.

The nap of the evening is trap one Grove Patrick in the Friday Night 500 Maiden Heat Two at 7.27pm over 400m. He has taken to Romford well following his move from Ireland earlier in the year and ran well in defeat last week breaking the 24-second barrier in the process leaving Crafty Fritto behind him in third who re-opposes tonight. He’s got an ideal draw on the inside and any kind of run similar to last week will see Grove Patrick go extremely close this evening in a more than winnable maiden.

The next best is trap three Gothic Kitty in the Emerson & Upminster FC race over 575m at 7.44pm. A race that isn’t blessed with natural early pace bar Arb Park Ranger, Gothic Kitty could find herself in a good position coming out of the second bend and if she can turn second to the latter I would fancy her to catch him and win. Bright Jewel in trap six is expected to go off a short price favourite but she has been running over 750m and had a tough race behind Mongys Wild last week at Monmore over 684m so I wouldn’t be sure she needs the sharp 575m trip,  so i'm happy to be with Gothic Kitty at a fair price.

The third bet of the evening is trap one Droopys Manowar in the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard Final at 8.54pm. He has found his best form in recent weeks from middle draws and was majorly impressive last week in the heats after not coming away at all. He will keep a straight line to the bend and that could be key to his chances with a big early pace battle on his outside, Droopys Manowar could find himself in front off the second bend where he wouldn’t be for catching. If turning behind the right dog for example a Droopys Rarity, I would also fancy our selection to have too much for that rival.
