Joe's Saturday Tips - 21 June
Joe Coneely has tips for a busy Saturday night of open-race action

Joe's Saturday Tips
***7.25 Romford - Razldazl Benetti (4pts) 7/4
**9.32 Romford - Bacon Roll (3pts) 7/2
*10.04 Romford - Alright Patricia (3pts) EVS
An unusual open race card at Romford takes place this evening with races over various distances, including the 925m trip.
The nap runs in the Mcfen Maiden over 400m at 7.25pm. Trap one Razldazl Benetti found all sorts of bother on UK debut last week, when running from trap two against two of the same rivals this evening in Newinn Finn and Carmelfromcanew. However, if he traps on terms this evening from trap one, he should be able to pace up and hold his line into the first bend where he can turn in front. He has already clocked 24.07 at the track so if leading, he won’t be for catching in a race that should suit.
The next best is trap five Bacon Roll in the Rosewood Bitches Invitation at 9.32pm over 400m. She hasn’t won since the end of April but she keeps finding trouble when coming away before just finding one going with her to the bend. This evening she should be able to lead early with Droopys Eunice on her inside moving left, so if Bacon Roll can lead around the first and second bend, she will take some pegging back and will pick up a deserved victory after some troublesome runs in recent weeks.
The third bet for the evening is trap five Alright Patricia in the Thames Materials 925m Invitation at 10.04pm. Last week's Dorando winner lines up against one of her biggest rivals over these extreme distances in Ballymac Taylor, who was half a length behind Alright Patricia at Towcester a week ago. Although the track and trip are different, Alright Patricia’s trappy nature can see her turn extremely close in this race and Ballymac Taylor could get help up, so if Alright Patricia can keep herself to herself out wide, I can see her confirming the form with Ballymac Taylor from that Dorando run.
At Central Park there are three semi-finals of the Arena Racing Company Kent Silver Salver over the 277m trip.
Semi-final one at 8.19pm can go to Rioja Oisin, who is fancied to get the better of King Jackson. Ballinakill Liam should make no mistakes in semi-final two at 8.36pm, with King Presley chasing him home to qualify, and semi-final three at 8.54pm looks more competitive on paper but can go to form with Pavillion Team leading home Roanna Mamba to take their places in next week's final.
