Tips for the Cat One action at Hove and Oxford

A super Saturday awaits with the final of the BetGoodwin Pall Mall at Oxford over 450m as well as the semi-finals of the Premier Greyhound Racing Regency and Coral Sussex Cup, both taking place at Hove.

The Pall Mall final at 8.26pm has thrown up a brilliant race with blistering early pace on show from the likes of Crossfield Enzo, Rioja Oisin and Union Rebel thrown in with Madabout Peck, Paradise Sky and Gingers Prince who has done extremely well to make the decider following a lengthy lay-off after suffering a serious injury.

I am with Crossfield Enzo in trap three who is drawn the right side of the three other middle seeds. He has bounced back to form in fine style going from strength to strength in heats and semi with a devastating display in last weeks semi-final clocking 26.35 off a rapid 3.85 split. Being drawn inside Rioja Oisin and Union Rebel can see him turn in front, and on last week's run, he is only getting stronger with each race under his belt, and would not be for catching if leading from lid rise. A case can be made for all six greyhounds in what is a fantastic final but I am with Crossfield Enzo to do the business.

The first semi-final of the PGR Regency at 6.59pm can go to Garfiney Blaze in trap one who bounced back to form in fine style last week in the first round coming from off the pace to clock the fastest of the six heats posting 41.45. He is drawn perfectly on the inside to beat Mark Wallis's other runner Newinn Cloud in trap six who is also drawn to perfection with Droopys Invent in trap five almost certainly moving in as the boxes open.

Semi-final two at 7.16pm has thrown up a corker with two unbeaten stars over six bends going head to head in Romeo Empire and Vhagar. On paper Vhagar is ideally drawn in trap five with Romeo Empire lining up from an unfamiliar trap four draw and that can be key for Vhagar to extend her unbeaten run over six bends. She can get first run to win the race with Romeo Empire showing enough class to qualify in behind her.

It can be a semi-final clean sweep for Mark Wallis with staying superstar Mongys Wild backing up last week's heat success by taking the third semi-final at 7.33pm. He has the perfect pacesetter in Burrows Eclipse to set the race up for him with the latter taking the field along before Mongys Wild gets into full stride where he can turn the screw from the halfway stage. As long as the gaps appear the best stayer in training, he can swoop by his rivals to give Wallis a Regency semi-final treble and five of the six runners in next week's decider with Bombay Nutty qualifying in second.

Following the Regency semi-finals we have the three semis of the Coral Sussex cup. Semi-final one at 7.49pm is an absolute belter with Proper Heiress lining up against King Memphis, Chelms Bear and Romeo Tomcat as well as Derby semi-finalist No Better Feelin and heat winner Mossrich Kylie. I am with Proper Heiress to back up last week's heat success and land the spoils clearing King Memphis early to put the race to bed at an early stage with Romeo Tomcat qualifying in second from a favourable looking draw in trap six.

The second semi-final at 8.07pm looks a match race between traps five and six Ballymac Kobe and defending champion Newinn Benni. I am with the latter who ran well to comfortably qualify last week when not leading and so if coming away this evening he can go round in front of Ballymac Kobe and would not be for catching. Ballymac Kobe should clear his rivals inside however Newinn Benni saves his best for this track and trip so he can lead and make all with Ballymac Kobe chasing him home.

Semi-final three at 8.24pm is a competitive affair that can go the way of trap six Slick Sentinel. He was faultless in the opening round and his consistency of sub 4.40 sectionals can see him go round in front. He is a fantastic competition dog who can make another big race final by leasing and making all with Missile One drawn in trap one well housed to qualify in second behind Patrick Janssens's charge.
