Joe Conneely's Greyhound Racing Tips
***7.16 Hove - Glenmavis (4pts) 5/4
**9.16 Hove - Jacktavern Mojo (4pts) 5/4
*8.59 Hove - Ballydarley Jack (2pts) 6/4
There is a full open card at Hove this evening as well as nine opens at Newcastle, including two Category Three finals.
The nap of the evening is trap three Glenmavis in the Coral 695 Stayers Trophy heat two at Hove at 7.16pm. It looks a match on paper with Ivy Hill Cherry, however, the latter is not running well at all desipte leading in races, so it is hard to look past Glenmavis, who is running at the top of her game with three victories from her last four starts. As long as she gets a clear run, she can turn in a handy position from the second bend and prove too strong for her rivals.
The next best is trap one Jacktavern Mojo in the Coral Thursday Night 500 Maidens at 9.16pm. Only a November 2023 puppy, he managed to pick up his first victory in an A4 last time out, when getting loose for the first time and clocking 29.49 in victory having found plenty of trouble in races prior to that success. In a four-dog race with a rival on his outside that he should clear, that can allow Jacktavern Mojo to lead into the first bend where he can assert and get the better of The Other Winx, who looks the main danger.
The third bet of the night is trap two Ballydarley Jack in the Coral Thursday Night Winner Of One over 500m at 8.59pm. He has been running well in defeat behind some nice types, including Burrows Charm and Chaddy Boy, and he takes a drop in class here. Bunny Rascal in trap one should take the field along if coming away level and if Ballydarley Jack can turn in a pitch behind that rival, he should prove too strong for the sprinter turning for home.
Broadway Murty can reverse recent form with Beaming Isla to land the Coral 285 Sprint Trophy final at 8.07pm.
At Newcastle, Racenight Janes should take all the beating in the Arena Racing Company Puppy final at 7.11pm from trap six, while Blackhouse Kim sets an extremely high standard in the Arena Racing Company Bitches final at 8.01pm and a level break will see her lead and win. Also on the card is the Arena Racing Company Standard final at 8.54pm, where Ballymac Sargie will taking some stopping following his facile success in last week's heat, clocking 28.54.
