Wednesday’s Selections
***8.24 Perry Barr - Brickey Chief (2pts) 13/8
**6.48 Yarmouth - King Stevens (1pt) 4/1
*7.56 Yarmouth - Shes Joking (1pt) 4/1
Small profit on Tuesday from two selections as we head into what looks a difficult Wednesday evening.
The nap of the evening runs in the 480m handicap at Perry Barr at 8.24pm. Trap six Brickey Chief has to give nine metres to the front runners in traps one, two and three with Zip Away in four receiving six metres and Lasso The Moon in five receiving four metres.. with the front five fairly packed together that could play into the hands of Brickey chief who is a strong runner in good form including a 28.45 victory four runs back in A2. He stays well and if the gaps appear at the right times for him, he can show his class in this handicap and go onto win.
The next best is trap six King Stevens in the D2 at Yarmouth at 6.48pm. He has been off the card since the end of January but a satisfactory 16.65 trial at Yarmouth was followed by a 16.44 run at Central Park and the switch back to Yarmouth could bring out a good break from King Stevens in a more than winnable race. Lissatouk Blake on the inside looks a danger but if King Stevens can come away and avoid Quagos Peggy, he can swoop the first and second bends and return to competitive action with a victory.
The third bet for the evening is trap one Shes Joking in the A1 at Yarmouth at 7.56pm. I fully expect Good Extra in trap four to be favourite but he doesn’t look guaranteed to get a clear run and with Outdoor Cracker in trap two giving Shes Joking plenty of racing room, I’m happy to take a chance on the strong running bitch who’s last four bend run was an impressive victory in A2 company before six bend runs at Yarmouth and Perry Barr.
