Wednesday’s Selections

***8.31 Yarmouth - Glideaway Hugo (3pts) 7/2
**8.54 Romford - Raha Gem (2pts) 4/1
*9.11 Romford - Micks Amigo (2pts) 4/1

Three more graded selections this evening at Romford and Yarmouth following on from a successful 14-point profit Tuesday.

The nap of the evening is trap three Glideaway Hugo in the A3 at Yarmouth at 8.31pm. This race entirely depends on what turns closest to Two Slip Jigs and I fancy Glideaway Hugo to get first run on Rapido Mateo and Orchid Kingdom, who he is sandwiched between. He stays this trip strongly so, if getting a clear run at Two Slip Jigs before the other strong stayers get into full stride, he can have too much for the early-paced railer and pick him up off the final bend to win his first race over four bends since May 5 in an A1 over C&D.

The next best is trap one Raha Gem in the S1 at Romford at 8.54pm. She is lightly raced over the 575m trip having only had two runs, one in an open race when finding plenty of trouble and finishing fifth. However, the S1 performance was an encouraging one, being beaten just half a length by Jeopardy Delta and clocking 35.75 on her first try over the distance when leading from the second bend to near the line. There is no reason why Raha Gem can’t get off the front this evening and, as long as she can keep Faradays Megan far enough behind her, she should be able to hold on from that rival when the tank empties close to home.

The third bet of the evening is trap two Micks Amigo in the A3 at Romford at 9.11pm. His best chance lies in leading trap one, Rising Rainbow, to the first bend and if trapping on terms, he should be capable of doing so. If he is successful in that, the race can be run to suit, with Yahoo Poppy and Whatflowwants down the middle of the track both looking to lead to win. If Micks Amigo can get the first bit right by leading Rising Rainbow, he brings open race-winning form coming from off the pace, so he should be more than capable of repeating that in A3 grade.
