Monday's Tips

*** Romeo Tomcat - 9.11 Nottingham

** Good Chloe - 8.01 Nottingham

* Reality Power - 8.36 Nottingham

Although Romeo Tomcat has been beaten in both the heats and semis of this competition, things could set up better for him in the final. The sole seeded runner outside of five railers is always tempting and Fabulous Heka in five is the slowest starter in the field. He will need to trap a little better than he has so far but they were his first two runs back from four months off, and he will have all the space in the world to operate on the run to the opening bend, something his railer rivals may not.

There is a sprint over the shorter two-bend trip on the card where Good Chloe could be an interesting runner. She has some very smart form over one of the sharpest sprint distances at Star Pelaw and the natural trapping that she has there could be a big plus for her now. She does not have many miles on the clock, but her 14.39 at that track was a top 10 time in 2025. That form could be enough.

There is a 905m marathon at 8.36 where Greenwell Gypsy will be expected to retain her unbeaten record over eight bends. She is going to be a very short price to do so but Reality Power is an interesting option each way, to fill the forecast spot, or without the favourite. Runner-up to Princess Matilda when that runner broke the 664m track record at Central Park last month, she is yet to race over this far, but she looks well worth a try and is a fascinating alternative.
