Monday's Arena Racing Company National Sprint Tips

Plenty of smart performers in the Arena Racing Company National Sprint tonight in what ought to be a wide open competition. The ante-post betting certainly seems to think so with a pair of 4/1 joint favourites ahead of the heats.

Ante-post prices - best odds

4/1 Ballinakill Liam, Shadow Storm

8/1 Nightingale Crew

9/1 Newinn Bachelor

12/1 Born Racer, Bower Sheeran

14/1 Broadway Murty, Newinn Souly

20/1 Kilara Berb, Turnthemagicon

25/1 Bockos Buster, Roanna Mamba

33/1 Madabout Peck

40/1 Aero Pattika, Droopys Will, Dunelm Rocket, Lissan Buzz, Mr Flashy, Pro Parker, Sunnyside Jayden, Toddys Wolf, Whitehills Titan

50/1 Ballybough Nutz, My Lennie, Niosfearrnabolt, Sevenofdiamonds

66/1 Alan The First, Bramble Nickeen, Colliers Bucholz, Grovenor Mona, Unmistakable

80/1 Caseys Dylan

100/1 Broadway Steel

125/1 Aero Drama, Lightfoot Jamie, Rapido Steve

Heat One

Born Racer has improved his time with each of his three races at this track, a slick 17.71 winner on his most recent start a fortnight back when he was clad in red. That jacket again tonight can see him get the better of the ultra consistent Bockos Buster who was in trap one last time out but starts out of five this evening. Guys and Dolls winner Newinn Souly should fill out the frame.

Heat Two

Turnthemagicon caught plenty of eyes at Monmore in August with his speed to the opening bend over 480m. He shapes as if he should be more than capable of taking the drop down in trip in his stride but he clashes here with Newinn Bachelor. Kim Billingham-Hine's new track record holder over the 255m distance is a natural sprinter and that might be enough to sway the vote his way. Bramble Nickeen has been flying at Star Pelaw of late and even though this is a very different track, he can do enough to qualify.

Heat Three

An 18.17 trial here from Nightingale Crew wasn't earth shattering but his race debut for Craig Morris at Romford certainly was. He stopped the clock in 13.23, beating an excellent yardstick in Pavilion Team in the process. A February 24 whelp, he is very much in the could be anything bracket. Alan The First looks to have a nice draw on the inside. Grovenor Mona beat Rental Crisis at Doncaster last time out. She might prefer the striped jacket but she needs respect.

Heat Four

Roanna Mamba is in flying form at present and a slot inside of Bower Sheeran is going to be a big plus for him. Tom Heilbron's youngster has looked smart in action at Sunderland of late and trialled here well but he is in a very unfamiliar slot in trap five and in Roanna Mamba, he has a natural trapper inside him to clear. Niosfearrnabolt is entitled to come on plenty for his recent trial but the 2024 winner will need to.

Heat Five

Shadow Storm has quickly risen to the top of the sprinters tree with wins in the Northamptonshire Sprint and the Scurry. A third Category Two might be required if he is to win sprinter of the year but he gets his chance to start on that road here. He has to clear Broadway Murty on his inside who will not go down without a fight and looks the biggest danger. Toddys Wolf is unexposed enough to improve enough to qualify in third.

Heat Six

Two wins here in recent weeks for Ballinakill Liam have him vying for favouritism with Shadow Storm ahead of the opening round. Those successes are both in the top 12 times of 2025 over this 305m trip and he probably doesn't need to go as quickly as that to land his heat. Droopys Will trialled well but will need to be on his toes from trap two with Aero Drama inside him liable to move off and Lightfoot Jamie outside him coming in. Madabout Peck should be right in the mix for a qualifying spot as well.
