There are four open races at Nottingham where we have three selections

Nottingham Monday
***7.27 Nottingham - Honour Mission (2pts) 7/2
**8.01 Nottingham - Starcash Beat (2pts) 11/4
*8.54 Nottingham - Tiermana Lucky (1pt) 17/2
There are four open races at Nottingham this evening with two heats of a 305m sprint competition, as well as a 500m maiden and a 480m one off open.
The first open race of the evening is the Nottingham Maiden Standard Trophy at 7.27pm, where trap one, Honour Mission, can use the draw on her inside to her advantage.
Salacres Elmejor in trap two for Peter Harnden is having his first look at the track, so as long as Honour Mission can come away running, Salacres Elmejor can give the selection plenty of room at the bend to hit the front.
If leading, there should not be anything in the race capable of catching Honour Mission, so she can break her maiden tag.
At 8.01pm, we have the first heat of the 305m sprint.
Trap three, Starcash Best, was a gutsy winner of a D1 seven days ago and he can follow up by taking this heat.
He didn’t break as well as he could but drove the first bend extremely well to come out of it in front, with Another Boxcar three parts of a length behind him in third having held every chance.
There is no reason why that form should be reversed and a better break from Starcash Best should see him victorious, with Salacres Bullet the main danger to the selection.
Heat two is at 8.19pm where trap three Rental Crisis should take all the beating.
Although he was beat in a D1 last time out at his home track Kinsley, he won in great style over C&D two weeks ago when beating the talented Mossrich Karen by two lengths in a very quick 17.73 (+20), so a repeat of that run from a middle draw will see Rental Crisis lead and win, with Heathmill Nidge in trap two possibly the biggest danger to the selection.
The final open race on the card is the Nottingham Greyhounds 480m Trophy at 8.54pm.
I am going to take a chance on trap five, Tiermana Lucky, against Jetstream Breeze, who is likely to go off a short-priced favourite.
Tiermany Lucky was a winner at her local track Kinsley last time out in a D1, beating Rental Crisis, and prior to that found herself in behind Acomb Felix at Sheffield over 480m, but a flying 27.44 open race victory at Doncaster back on May 10 is a solid line of form.
She will need to be foot-perfect but at a price, I am willing to take a chance.
