Thursday's Tips

*** Tiffield Tarquin - 8.54 Hove

** Sussex Villan - 7.33 Hove

* Venetian Mario - 8.07 Hove

The orange jacket is an unfamiliar starting position for Tiffield Tarquin these days but he has the natural speed to lead up Droopys Deploy on his inside and hold Behemoth wide going into the opening bend which can prove to be the winning move. He has proven very hard to beat all year, clocking the two fastest times over this 515m trip.

There is an interesting maiden stayers where Sussex Villan can get off the mark over six bends. He has had a couple of goes to this point, runner-up to Blackstone Harry and then to Bella Bullet. The former ran Tiffield Tarquin to a neck on his most recent effort and the latter was a Regency finalist and there does not appear to be anything of that level in this field.

A 500m final at 8.07 can see Venetian Mario back up the impression that he made in the opening round with another win. He was the quickest of these on what was just his second start on these shores and his first race action at Hove. He has some pace pressure from Playit Cool Trig on his immediate left but if he can turn level at worst, he can kick away down the back.
